Why Platte County Families Keep Coming Back
Since 1992, our hearing clinic has cared for patients of every age, from a child's first hearing test to a grandparent's new Widex hearing aids. Tinnitus treatment, custom hearing protection, and repairs happen in the same office.
Columbus police officers and firefighters get free baseline and annual hearing tests through our Public Servant Hearing Plan, and we welcome patients from Schuyler, David City, Albion, and across central Nebraska.
It's one familiar office for your whole family's hearing, year after year.
Our Promise Doesn't End at the Fitting
Every hearing aid fitted at AUDIO-LOGIC, PC is verified with Real Ear Measurement, so we know it delivers the sound prescribed for your hearing — in your own ear. From there, our better-hearing follow-up program includes cleanings, batteries, and refittings for three years after your purchase, keeping you on track as your hearing and lifestyle change. Since 1992, Columbus patients have counted on us to stay with them long after day one.

“As a new customer the check-in process including the paper work was extremely easy and we were made to feel welcome and comfortable. The Doctor was superb! She allowed my husband to be present. She asked a few initial questions, explained the testing process and findings. She answered all of our questions. If you have hearing issues I highly recommend Audio-Logic, PC”— Scott T., Google Review

"I was surprised by the side benefits of better hearing. Since I have been wearing the hearing aids I can hear better and also have experienced less brain fatigue and fewer headaches. I don't need to expend as much mental energy translating conversations and trying to listen as intently so I can follow conversations."
Before Your First Visit
Practical answers about booking with AUDIO-LOGIC, PC in Columbus, NE, including office hours, your first hearing test, insurance, and what follow-up care covers.
Call our office at (402) 564-9198 or send a request through the form on our contact page, and we'll call you back to set a time. You'll find us in the Fox Hollow Professional Center at 3763 39th Ave, Ste 300, Columbus, NE 68601.
Office hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and we close from 12:00 to 1:00 PM for lunch. We don't see patients on Thursdays, and we're closed on weekends, December 24 and 25, and January 1. Walk-ins are welcome when staffing allows, but calling ahead is the surest way to get the time you want, especially for a hearing test or hearing aid fitting.
Your visit starts with a conversation. Dr. Fuchs asks about your family history, medications, noise exposure, and the places where hearing feels hardest, like restaurants or phone calls. She then looks in your ear canals to make sure they're clear.
The complete hearing test takes about 45 minutes. It includes pure-tone testing to build your audiogram, speech testing to see how well you understand words at different volumes, and a quick middle-ear check called tympanometry. None of it hurts. Afterward, Dr. Fuchs goes over your results in plain language and explains your options if treatment makes sense. Family members are welcome to join you, and many patients find it helps to have another set of ears in the room.
Yes. When AUDIO-LOGIC, PC is a preferred provider for your plan, we bill your insurance directly, so you aren't stuck filing the claim yourself. Coverage for hearing tests and hearing aids varies a lot from plan to plan. The easiest step is to call (402) 564-9198 with your insurance card handy, and we'll help you sort out what applies to your visit.
We also accept FSA and HSA funds toward hearing tests and hearing aids. Hearing aid pricing depends on the technology level that fits your hearing and lifestyle, and Dr. Fuchs will walk you through the choices and costs before you commit to anything.
Your care continues well past the fitting. Every pair is checked with Real Ear Measurement, a quick probe-microphone test that confirms the sound reaching your eardrum matches your prescription. Through our better-hearing follow-up program, cleanings, batteries, and refittings are included for three years after your purchase, so adjustments as your hearing or daily routine changes are already covered.
If something stops working, bring it in. We handle troubleshooting and many repairs right here in the office, and repairs on in-warranty devices bought from us cost little or nothing. Extended coverage for loss and damage is available on some devices. We fit Widex hearing aids in every style, from nearly invisible completely-in-canal models to behind-the-ear designs.
We see patients of every age, from infants and toddlers to teens, adults, and seniors. Care for children is family-centered: parents are part of every step, and we coordinate with your child's pediatrician when needed. We also help families spot the signs of hearing loss at each age and protect young ears from earbuds, concerts, and hunting noise.
For adults, we offer diagnostic hearing tests, hearing aids, tinnitus treatment, and aural rehabilitation to help you and your family adjust to hearing loss. Musicians can be fitted for custom in-ear monitors, and farmers, hunters, and industrial workers can get custom hearing protection. Not sure if we're the right fit? Give us a call and ask.
